Meet your Hardware - Monitor
To extend your display across multiple monitors, follow these steps:
Connect Your Monitors:
Plug one end of your monitor’s cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) into your computer/dock and the other end into the monitor.
Open Display Settings:
Right-click on your desktop and select Display settings.
Identify Your Displays:
Click Identify to see numbers appear on each screen, showing you which is which.
Arrange Your Displays:
Drag and drop the display icons to match the physical arrangement of your monitors2.
Select Extend These Displays:
Under the Multiple displays section, select Extend these displays from the dropdown menu3.
Here are some common troubleshooting steps for monitor issues:
- Ensure the monitor is plugged in and turned on.
- Verify that all cables (power, HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) are securely connected to both the monitor and the computer.
- Test with Another Device: Connect the monitor to a different computer or device to see if it works. This helps determine if the issue is with the monitor or the original device.
- Inspect Cables and Ports: Look for any visible damage to the cables or ports. Try using different cables if possible.
- Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the monitor for any signs of physical damage, such as cracks or discoloration.
